The Hulk

Potty training is still going and 2 days ago an ultimatum was declared. No more pull-ups. Ayla was potty trained at about 2 years 9 months old and it took us about a week. (Okaaaayyyy, it was more like 10 days.) But this kid, it’s been like SIX MONTHS now. He’s well over 3 years old and he knows what’s what. I don’t want to hear one more time “well, maybe he’s not ready.” So, enough. Since my pull-up ban, which even includes naps and night-time – oh, yes, I’m serious – there have been exactly ZERO accidents. Of any variety. Today he was completely successful in getting himself to the bathroom in time for ‘the big one’ and took a knife catalog in there with him to pass the time. Yes, a back issue of a catalog selling knives. That was the reading material he chose. Don’t ask how I just have that laying around the house. He took care of business and when he was all done, hopped off, looked down and exclaimed, “LOOK MOM! My poop is BIG! It looks like The Hulk!” Yes, it’s good to be proud of our accomplishments.

Celery

I went grocery shopping this morning for the second load of groceries needed for our Thanksgiving dinner. One of the 500 things on my list was celery. Not a usual item to be seen in our household. It’s going in with the turkey as flavoring, I don’t think it will actually be eaten. I was going to buy a can of some variety of squirt cheese to go with what doesn’t get thrown in the oven until I saw that the price tag on those is around $3.50! Forget it. So, we get home and about 10 a.m. Evren declares he is hungry and demands celery. Er, really? “I don’t think you’ll eat that honey, how about a cold slice of pizza instead?” Yes, that’s what I fed him as a snack, cold pizza, when what he wanted was celery. He finished his pizza and once again announced he was STILL hungry and again asked for the celery. Fine. I cut and washed him a stalk and he ate the whole damn thing. I do not give that kid enough credit. Right now he’s eating a bowl of grapes.

Unique

Unique means special.
In my way unique means good.
In my way it means odd.
I am unique because I am diffrent.

How It All Started

E-mail from my sister-in-law, Tara after possibly receiving one too many photos and/or e-mailed stories about the wee ones:

“I had an idea — you should start a family blog.  You send all your little updates to us, but you could do it on blogspot or something :)   Plus, you could include more pictures and stuff.  I think it’s a cool idea…  If I had a family I would do it ;)  “

Yes, it’s a good idea I thought. I have an easy way to do it and no lack of material. And this blog about our ridiculousness was started. Thanks Tara!
