I’m sure everyone has a beef stew recipe they use from time to time. Just go throw it away and use this one from now on.
It’s THE PERFECT recipe and it’s pretty much no fail. I promise, you will love it.

I thought this was my other friend Chris, who lives here, who was just making a joke that she was too lazy to cook! Then I realized, oh wait! This is other Chris, and they really DO have the metric system! Ha! The good news is you can easily convert the recipe – I’ll tell you how. -Jenn

Umm, I think the bottom line here is–Chris DOES NOT want to cook!
Yeah, if a recipe calls for more than two ingredients, such as lunchmeat and bread, my eyes start to glaze over.
Trust me, I’m not exagerating

No, I swear! They live on the other side of the world and you can see their website here: http://www.dieolsenban.de/blog/. There are some really cute photos of their little boy Finn. They really DO have the metric system!

Yes, I do have a kitchen!
Proof: http://www.dieolsenban.de/home/kueche_nachher.jpg
And yes, I do cook!
And as soon as I find out what the heck a can of condensed, undiluted beef broth is I will cook this stew althoug the recipe still speaks of inches and ounces after switching it to metric.

Your kitchen is gorgeous!! (Or did you just scan in a photo from a decorator’s magazine?! – kidding!) The counters and cabinets are so beautiful. I tried to find it on your website to leave a comment there. You should write a post about ‘look how lovely my kitchen is.’

Okay, I stand corrected. You both inspired me to actually cook supper.
Baked chicken.
In the real oven.
Of course if I had a clean kitchen like that I might cook more. Ha.

I started the blog a couple of months after the kitchen was finished.
That’s why there’s no entry about the kitchen in the blog.
You can tell that the kitchen is real from the junk that you can spot on the picture (cables lying around, tools on the window sill)…
We had to have some walls removed in order to fit the whole thing.
You can see it here:

Maybe the site has been updated since the last post, but the link to the recipe now has an option of converting the recipe to metric automatically.
