Free Time? What Free Time?

I don’t often have a chance to go to the movie theatre, and it usually happens that when I do make an effort or decide to go, it’s the exact week that nothing I care to see is showing.  Here are the two movies I would love to go see now.  It’s funny how they couldn’t be more different than each other.

Yeah, I Stole It. What Of It?

I’m always on the look out for the perfect tagline for my e-mails.  And, I think I may have found it.  I busted out laughing so loud when I read it and then I promptly wrote it down and will proceed use it as my own.  (Which I often do.)

WHAT THE FOXTROT UNIFORM CHARLIE KILO IS GOING ON HERE?

(Giggling.  It’s still funny. Ha.)

What?

OK, fine.  He doesn’t even know I took it.

Thank you Chris.

(And no, I’m not clarifying.  For all you know, I DID learn German.)

There’s Just Something I Can Relate To…

Office Hijinks

That is if you have an office.  Where more than only yourself works.

Then, these stickers could be fun.

The Sensitivity Training Isn’t Going Well

Yesterday in the post office there was a nice young guy in a wheelchair.  Evren picked up on this immediately and started asking lots of questions.  Loudly.  I steered the conversation to how cool the wheelchair was and how fast it probably goes.  Which worked for a few minutes until the guy turned a bit and Evren noticed he only had one leg and again….loud questions.  The guy was a good sport about it, thankfully.

So, when we got back in the car, I used the opportunity to talk about how everybody’s different, etc.  Ayla caught on to this fairly quickly when she was little, thankfully.  Within minutes, he got bored of the lecture, and demanded I talk about something else.  Fine.

So, this morning, we were chatting about something else and I tried to work in the whole ‘everyone is different’ angle once more, and Evren played along.  This was the result…

Jenn:  “If somebody looks different than us, do we make fun of them?”

Evren:  “Nooo…..”

Jenn:  “And if somebody looks different than us, should we be scared of them?”

Evren:  “Noooo….(pause) We laugh at them!”

Jenn:  (groan)

Let’s go through this one more time…

Eggs. On the Door.

Ayla has often accused me of not decorating for any holiday not named Christmas. It’s true. Decorations are expensive. And there’s the buying, the putting up of, the taking down of, the storing, the buying of appropriate storage containers, etc. Plus, I’m not a fan of the ‘cutesy’ decorations. I was in a store the other day with the purposeful intention of ‘buying some Easter decorations’ and did you know…it’s very hard to find any Easter decorations that are not pastel. Not a fan. I ended up buying 3 little gray sheep figurines which I have displayed, but I don’t think anyone has noticed.

Fast forward to today and I found myself inside of a Pier 1 Imports. It’s tricky with a 3-year old and so many things to touch but I had to take care of some other little thing there and ended up walking out of the store with this…
Egg Wreath

It’s huge. And it’s on my front door now. The colors are muted so I can live with it and it does actually look very cute on the door. There. 3 gray lambs and a freakin’ huge egg wreath. I’ll buy more next year.

Super Cool Belt Buckle

I love this belt buckle.  Groovy.

Belt Buckle

Very cool find being offered on eBay from a 3453haynes and thanks to the power of the blogosphere, they are going to get a lot of money for it.  Well played.

(But, I serously do like it and if I came across it on a table at a flea market for like 5 bucks I would totally buy it.)

Simply Lasagna

Here’s an easy and very un-fussy recipe for lasagna that actually turns out pretty decent. Mine ends up looking slightly more smushed together than this photo, but it’s all good.

Lasagna

Note:  after a quick once-over of the recipe again, yeah….there’s no way I’m chopping up parsley.  Just throw in some dried parsley or Italian seasoning and it’ll be fine.

They Said They Wanted To Stay Up Late To Watch A Movie

And this was the result.

Wimps.  They couldn’t handle it.

Evren Sleeping

Notice the hammer in his pocket.

Hammer in his pocket

I noticed when I picked him up that he had his toy cell phone in the other pocket.  He’s always ready to go, this one.
