Millions of Women are Waiting to Meet You:  A Story of Live, Love and Internet Dating by Sean Thomas

Eh, it was okay.  Maybe 2.5-3 stars out of 5. 

The first issue I had was that the guy is from the UK, so it was a slightly different perspective than a US internet dating experience.  I’m guessing.  (I knew this before I bought it, and got it anyway.)

The second issue was that in every chapter he would give a short little funny description of one or a few of his brief internet encounters, and then launch into a very, long description of some girl he dated in the past and fell in love with and every detail contained within THAT past relationship. 

It was funny enough, but I wouldn’t recommend paying money for it.

The Giver by Lois Lowry

Short read, and thoroughly enjoyable.  You can find it in the young adult section.

For One More Day by Mitch Albom

Picked this up at a used book sale a couple of weeks ago for a buck.  I honestly couldn’t remember if I had read it or not, but didn’t think so, and it seemed a dollar’s worth of interesting.

And it was.  It was a bit odd though.  

Here is my favorite passage from the book:

“Mom?”  I whispered.
I hadn’t said it in so long.  When death takes your mother, it steals that word forever.
“Mom?”
It’s just a sound really, a hum interrupted by open lips.  But there are a zillion words on this planet, and not one of them comes out of your mouth the way that one does.

And my second favorite…

It’s amazing the fantasies your mind can put together.

Sweet book.  Don’t rush to buy it, but if you ever come across it at a used book sale, definitely grab it.
