#63 Become a Member of Postcrossing and Participate – DONE

postcrossing

The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.

We have sent and received 12 postcards to and from all over the world.

We sent postcards to:  Thailand, Finland, China, Germany, Netherlands, the UK, Milwaukee and Hawaii.

We have received some really awesome cards too.

Estonia
Ella from Estonia writes, “On the card it is written in Estonian language: Let your friend be sure and faithful then all the rest would be fine!

Finland 2
Sanna from Finland got married two weeks ago!

Finland
This postcard shows a typical seashore landscape in Finland and after the cold winter locals enjoy swimming and lying on the warm rocks at the beach.

France
This post card is from a 12-year old in France who has a dog and an older brother and who was visiting his grandmother during the summer.

Germany
This postcard is from a secretary in Germany who had spent the previous weekend taking photos of a skydiving competition.

Hawaii
Lauren sent us this gorgeous card from the island of Oahu. It was also the biggest one we received.

Japan
This card shows a typical view of Osaka, Japan.

Russia in Germany
This card was sent by a Russian student who was going to a university in Germany for one year.

New Jersey
This postcard was from a family from New Jersey who like to spend their summers on Long Beach Island. They have a huge cat named Charlie who weighs 35 pounds!

Spain
This post card from Spain shows Sun Gate where people like to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Taiwan
Tina from Taiwan sent us this postcard and she says that the climate there is very similar to the climate of California.

Taiwan 2
Beatrice sent us this card, she is a sophomore majoring in History.

I thought this was a fun experience, but the kids were only mildly interested.  It costs nearly a dollar to send an international postcard, I learned.
