Sculpture Museum, Feb 2012
Ayla was on a camping weekend having tons of fun and Evren and I weren’t happy just sitting at home… so we visited one of our favorite places in the city. Then he convinced me to go to the Art Museum across the street also. I had to stop him when he just assumed we were going to the Asian Museum as well… I love museums too, but moderation!

Reading: Half a Life
Half a Life by Darin Strauss
No matter the subject, I am grateful to learn something and have something to hold on to after finishing a book. Complicated Grief Disorder is not something I had ever heard of, nor have I ever imagined living my life with a dark memory that colors everything. This book is honest, poignant, and both a tribute to a life being lived and a life lost.

With the GOP race focusing mostly on Newt & Mitt, I hadn’t paid much attention to this guy… apparently he has a lot of really excellent, focused input… if you have a few minutes… (please, indulge me).

Cooking: Tortellini with Edamame and Smoked Sausage
Tortellini with Edamame and Smoked Sausage from Disney Family
This recipe has only 5 ingredients and I ended up going to 3 different grocery stores to get everything…what? First of all, is there such a thing as “frozen tortellini”? Not where I live apparently – I finally just got the refrigerated kind – it worked perfectly. Then, shelled edamame – it does exist. But you won’t find it at Super Target (lesson learned).
All in all – fun recipe. I’m not sure Italian dressing is the right complement to this dish (Ayla wasn’t a fan) but it was tasty enough. For about 15 bucks we had enough to feed all three of us for two meals and it filled us up – I’ll take it!
