Non-stop birthday day fun, for Evren who turned five.
First stop: Krispy Kreme. We were on our way to the toy store, and needed some sugar. And they were warm!

I let Evren pick “a small toy” (mistake) and it seemed like we would NEVER get out of there.

He couldn’t make up his mind to save his life.

He finally did decide, and by then we were all starving. He got to choose where we went to lunch and he picked Burger King because “You never take us there Mommy.”

Burger, fries and lemonade slushie.
THEN, PARTY!
All his very best friends showed up and it was fabulous.

Talk about an ugly cake, I know, but it was surprisingly good!

LOVED all his presents!!

THEN, (oh yes, there’s more)…
BUILD-A-BEAR

He named this little guy “FurJoe”.
Then, dinner, his choice, a hot dog from Sonic.

He was a great sport about the first 150 or so photos I took that day, but I think this was a hint that he just wanted to finish his dinner in peace.
Anyway… it was a great day and we are still cleaning up the aftermath. I have tons more pics and if you are interested I can send you the snapfish link - just email me.
Next stop…. Kindgergarten.

While shopping for a birthday present for one of Ayla’s friends, we find a very cool, kind of off-beat gift, that she thinks will be perfect and then she says to me….”yea, I think she’ll like it. She’s wacky. Well, I mean, not as wacky as you mom, but still… yea, I think she’ll like it.”

To Evren, 8:37 am this morning, “No, it is not time for glittery lip gloss, give that back to me.”
Yesterday was my baby girl’s 8th birthday and we had her birthday party after school. Holy moly, what a day. We are all recovering from the icing overdose.
The party was a huge success, everyone had a blast and Ayla got tons of really great presents.
I have a really big mess in the kitchen (where the presents & cake landed last night) to clean up.

Yesterday Evren’s best friend Emily turned three years old. And since it’s the law that you celebrate your 3rd birthday at Chuck E. Cheese that’s where you found us last night. The kids had a blast, of course. Emily’s cake (in the photo) was literally the most beautiful birthday cake I’ve ever seen in person and she apparently thought so too. We sang Happy Birthday to her, she blew out the candles perfectly, and then as her mom Elsa started to cut the cake Emily burst into tears! It was the sweetest thing! She didn’t want her mom to ruin her perfect birthday cake by (gasp!) cutting it into slices to eat! We did manage to distract her with presents and then she was fine with the whole cake-cutting thing.
Elsa is known for her goody bags so Evren & Ayla made out from this party pretty well. On the way home from the party in the car Evren says, “Mommy?” What honey? “(sigh) I just love my goody bag so much. And I love Elsa so much too.” Awwww…..
After we got home and the kids played with all their loot, Evren carefully packed everything back into his goody bag, ran upstairs and put it in “a safe place” (his closet). At bedtime he wasn’t happy when I wouldn’t let him sleep with his goody bag. He was already snuggling with 2 blankies, Pooh, Teddy, and his favorite book and I really didn’t think we needed to add ‘a bag of toys’ into the mix.
Thanks for a great party Elsa! Happy Birthday Emily!
